NEW YORK — National Tube Supply Co. has broken ground on a new site in Baytown, Texas, that is targeted for completion by year-end.

"The facility will feature about 100,000 square feet of warehouse space, 7,000 feet of office space and considerable outside storage," president Gary Chess said in a statement. "Houston is one of the largest mechanical tube markets in the nation, and the Baytown facility will allow us to better serve the surrounding states, which regionally represent the second-largest market nationwide."

The plant, the University Park, Ill.-based tubing distributor’s fourth facility, will house material handling and saw-cutting equipment.
