Olin hikes fabrication price 6%

NEW YORK — Olin Brass Inc., a subsidiary of Global Brass & Copper Holdings Inc. (GBC), says it will increase the fabrication price on all copper and copper finished products by 6 percent with all new orders received for shipment on or after July 1.

"This increase is focused on the recovery of rising costs associated to labor, health care, utilities, transportation, supplies and services that Olin Brass continues to absorb in virtually every functional area of our business today," the company said May 1.

The price hike is in addition to a price increase on its light-gauge and specialty finish products last month (amm.com, April 15).

The increase will be implemented across Olin’s entire customer base, including all original equipment manufacturers; all supply chain partners, including sister company A.J. Oster LLC; and all Olin Brass businesses, such as Bryan Metals LLC, Olin Brass Fabricated Products, Olin Brass Fineweld Tube and Somers Thin Strip, as well as Olin’s international units.
