NEW YORK — Allied Tube & Conduit Corp. continues to negotiate a new labor contract with unionized workers at its Harvey, Ill., facility.

"We are operating under an extension agreement, which has an automatic renewal clause that keeps the contract current as we continue to negotiate," a spokeswoman told AMM via e-mail, adding that the extension will run "until either party provides 10 days’ written notice to the other of its desire to terminate the extension agreement."

The existing labor agreement at the plant, which makes mechanical and electrical tubing, sprinkler pipe, fence and channel products, expired April 10 and was extended until May 10 (amm.com, April 23).

Allied Tube is a subsidiary of Harvey-based Atkore International Holdings Inc.
