CHICAGO — Ohio Star Forge Co. will break ground May 14 on a $20-million expansion project in Champion Township, Ohio.

The Warren, Ohio-based company, a subsidiary of Nagoya, Japan-based Daido Steel Co. Ltd., recently acquired land for the 33,000-square-foot addition, which will house a new production line with a high-speed horizontal hot-former (, April 3).

After ramping up the new line, the company’s annual forgings output will nearly double to between 70,000 and 71,000 tons from 36,000 tons currently.
