PITTSBURGH — A former office manager and bookkeeper for a New York scrap company has been accused of embezzling more than $600,000 from the company.

Christa Riccaldo, also known as Christa Ramos, allegedly stole more than $600,000 from Farmingdale, N.Y.-based Two Brothers Scrap Metal Inc., according to the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office.

Riccaldo pleaded not guilty to second-degree grand larceny charges May 8.

She purportedly wrote more than $240,000 in business account checks to pay her personal credit card bills and charged a combined $300,000 in personal expenses to the company’s credit card and the owner’s credit card, according to the district attorney’s office. The charges included a trip to the 2013 Super Bowl, according to local news reports.

Riccaldo could not be reached, and the company had no comment.
