NEW YORK — Tennessee Gas Pipeline Co. LLC (TGP) has signed a 20-year transportation agreement with Japan’s Mitsubishi Corp. to ship 600,000 dekatherms per day of natural gas to the proposed Cameron liquefied natural gas (LNG) liquefaction facility in Louisiana.

Tokyo-based Mitsubishi is the foundation shipper for TGP’s Southwest Louisiana Supply Project, which will provide transportation from various supply basins in Louisiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Texas to the Cameron Interstate Pipeline, which connects directly to the Cameron LNG Terminal.

The Hackberry, La., liquefaction facility is slated to begin LNG exports in the second half of 2017.

TGP is a unit of Houston-based Kinder Morgan Energy Partners LP.
