CHICAGO — Heavy commercial vehicle manufacturer Navistar Inc. has sold its Navistar RV subsidiary to Allied Specialty Vehicles Inc. (ASV), which makes emergency, commercial and recreational vehicles.

Orlando, Fla.-based Allied Specialty Vehicles purchased all of Navistar RV’s equity interest, including the manufacturing operations for the R-Vision and Holiday Rambler towable units in Harrisburg, Ore., and the Monaco and Holiday Rambler motorized recreational vehicles in Wakarusa, Ind., and signed a multiyear leasing agreement for Navistar RV’s Elkhart, Ind., facility.

"We continue to focus on our North America core businesses, and the sale of Navistar RV represents another important step in our return-on-invested-capital review process," Jack Allen, chief operating officer of Lisle, Ill.-based Navistar Inc., said in a statement. "These are three strong brands with world-class products, and ASV will be able to create more value in the business than we could ourselves."
