Severstal North America announces exec changes

NEW YORK — Severstal North America Inc. has appointed Ronald Kostyo vice president and general manager of the company’s Dearborn, Mich., operations effective June 1.

Kostyo, formerly manager of steelmaking at Dearborn, replaces Bruce Black, who has "resigned ... to pursue other career interests," the Dearborn-based steelmaker said May 20.

The domestic subsidiary of Moscow-based OAO Severstal also has appointed Madhu Ranade vice president and general manager of Severstal Columbus in Mississippi effective June 10. Ranade, previously a vice president and general manager at Chicago-based ArcelorMittal USA LLC, succeeds Wilbur Winland, who is retiring.

Michael Tuomey has been appointed Severstal NA’s interim chief financial officer, effective immediately. Tuomey, previously the company’s director of corporate accounting and controlling, replaces Mark Yost, who has left the company.
