NEW YORK Pure Nickel Inc.
chief financial officer Jeffrey Sherman has resigned effective
May 31, and the junior miner has commenced exploration
activities at its Man Alaska property, the company said May
Sherman is leaving the
Toronto-based company "to allow him more time to pursue his
other business interests," the company said. Sherman was
appointed chief financial officer in February 2008.
Jennifer Scoffield has been
named interim chief financial officer.
Pure Nickel also announced that
2013 exploration activity at its Man Alaska property will
consist primarily of a 1.37-mile drilling program utilizing one
helicopter-supported drill rig.
The nickel-copper property, located 155 miles southeast of
Fairbanks, Alaska, is being explored under a joint-venture
agreement with Tokyo-based Itochu Corp. Itochu currently holds
a 30-percent ownership interest and can earn up to a 75-percent
interest by incurring $40 million in exploration expenditures
on the property.
