NEW YORK — Garey Rittenhouse has been dismissed as vice president of nonferrous trading at PSC Metals Inc., he told AMM.

Rittenhouse said he and three other employees were "laid off" following an issue involving unpaid receivables from Providence, N.C.-based recycler Hayes Iron & Metal Inc., which filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in February (, Feb. 6).

"While my departure from the company was unexpected, I understand PSC’s course of action as a response to the recent bankruptcy of Hayes Iron & Metal," Rittenhouse told AMM. "Decisions such as this one are difficult for the company and the individuals who are impacted."

Rittenhouse, who had been with Mayfield Heights, Ohio-Based PSC Metals since March 2010, was dismissed May 17, along with Jason Loveland, Dale Ferrero and Brandon Bice, he said. All three were members of Rittenhouse’s trading team.

PSC Metals didn’t respond to requests for comment.
