CCMA, ProFound Alloys buy DLA low-carbon ferrochrome

NEW YORK — CCMA LLC and ProFound Alloys LLC have purchased low-carbon ferrochrome from DLA Strategic Materials for a combined $1.46 million.

The Fort Belvoir, Va.-based agency sold 1.19 million pounds of the 1.68 million pounds of low-carbon ferrochrome offered in May. The ferrochrome offer consisted of one 840,000-pound lot of 0.13-percent-carbon material and an equal amount of 0.15-percent-carbon material (, May 21).

The agency recorded no sales of the 2.3 million pounds of high-carbon ferrochrome offered in May.

The DLA also recorded no sales of 4 million pounds of domestic 76.76-percent high-carbon ferromanganese and 2.29 million pounds of Japanese 76.45-percent material, which have both been on offer since 2012 (, May 14).

Amherst, N.Y.-based trading house CCMA is separate from Calvert City, Ky.-based CC Metals & Alloys LLC. ProFound Alloys is based in Pittsburgh.
