LOS ANGELES — The West Coast has joined the latest round of flat-rolled steel price hikes, with California Steel Industries Inc. (CSI) raising tags effective June 14.

The Fontana, Calif.-based producer told customers that it would increase hot-rolled, hot-rolled pickled and oil, and cold-rolled sheet by $20 per ton; and galvanized sheet by $30 per ton.

The region’s other major producer, USS-Posco Industries, as of early Monday wasn’t reported as having joining the move, although market sources said they expect the Pittsburg, Calif.-based producer of cold-rolled and galvanized sheet to act shortly.

ArcelorMittal USA LLC, Chicago, and AK Steel Corp., West Chester, Ohio, had increased sheet prices last week (, June 13).
