NEW YORK — DLA Strategic Materials is again offering more than 1,148 short tons of high-carbon ferrochrome and 1.68 million pounds of low-carbon ferrochrome for June.

Like last month, the high-carbon ferrochrome consists of five separate lots at the agency’s depot in Warren, Ohio. The smallest lot is 45.16 tons produced in South Africa, while the largest lot is 308.6 short tons from Japan. Only bids for the entire quantity of each high-carbon lot will be accepted, the Fort Belvoir, Va.-based agency said.

The low-carbon material is composed of 840,000 pounds of 0.13-percent-carbon ferrochrome and 840,000 pounds of 0.15-percent material. Both lots are at the DLA’s Point Pleasant, W.Va., depot.

Bidding closes at 11:30 am June 19.

CCMA LLC and ProFound Alloys LLC bought 1.19 million pounds of the 1.68 million pounds of low-carbon ferrochrome offered in May for a combined $1.46 million (, June 5).
