NEW YORK — Nucor Corp. has increased its minimum base prices for steel sheet products effective immediately, it told customers in a June 19 letter.

The letter follows a move by several other producers late last week. Some customers had already received calls from sales representatives of the Charlotte, N.C.-based steel producer about the higher prices last week, as reported by AMM (, June 14).

New hot-rolled coil prices are $31.50 per hundredweight ($610 per ton) while cold-rolled and galvanized sheet is $36.50 per ton ($710 per ton).
