NEW YORK — Bri-Steel Manufacturing Inc. has produced seamless pipe in diameters of 36 inches "for the first time on North American soil," the company said.

"Producing standard wall (0.375-inch wall thickness) is always the most difficult in large seamless production. Success in standard (wall thickness) allows us to produce all the heavier walls also up to our maximum thickness (0.75 inch)," Vern Gorman, plant manager at Edmonton, Alberta-based Bri-Steel, part of Bri-Chem Corp., said in a statement.
