LONDON Finnish steelmaker Rautaruukki Oyj (Ruukki) plans to expand its global sales network for special steels.
Helsinki-based Ruukki said June 25 will hire new sales professionals and open new offices in the Americas, Africa, China, the Middle East, Southeast Asia and Australia, and add staff in almost all of the European countries where it has operations. Ruukki opened sales offices in Canada and Chile earlier this year (amm.com, April 23).
"Being close to our customers geographically will enable us to deliver an even faster and more flexible service," Thomas Hörnfeldt, Ruukkis senior vice president for special steels and international sales, said.
Ruukki hopes to boost its annual sales of special steel products to 850 million ($1.11 billion) by 2015.
