NEW YORK Welded stainless tube maker United Stainless Inc. is spending $3.4 million to expand its Selmer, Tenn., facility.
The company is adding a 30,000-square-foot building that will house additional cutting and fabrication equipment and allow for more efficient storing and handling, the company said.
"This is their eighth expansion over the past few years," said Ted Moore, executive director of the McNairy County Economic Development Commission. "It says a lot for the company as they continue growth in these difficult economic conditions. Those expansions have allowed them to more than double the number of employees and operate from two locations in Selmer."
United Stainless is a subsidiary of Beloit, Wis.-based United Industries Inc., which also operates United Industries Cutting & Fabricating in Selmer.
