Outokumpu trims stainless steel surcharges

NEW YORK — Outokumpu Stainless USA LLC has lowered its stainless steel surcharges for coil products for July.

The Calvert, Ala.-based company set its July surcharges at 66.41 cents per pound for Type 304 material, down 3.2 percent from 68.59 cents in June; 44.24 cents per pound for Type 201, down 2.7 percent from 45.49 cents; 94.52 cents per pound for Type 316, down 3.3 percent from 97.7 cents; and 21.41 cents per pound for Type 430, which contains no nickel, down 0.8 percent from 21.58 cents.

West Chester, Ohio-based AK Steel Corp., Ghent, Ky.-based North American Stainless Inc. and Brackenridge, Pa.-based ATI Allegheny Ludlum Corp. all announced similar moves to lower their surcharges recently (, June 24).
