NEW YORK — The most recent flat-rolled price increase has made its way over the Rockies, with California Steel Industries Inc. (CSI) announcing late June 28 a boost in transaction prices effective immediately.

The Fontana, Calif.-based steelmaker said it was raising prices for hot-rolled, pickled and oiled, and cold-rolled products by $20 per ton ($1 per hundredweight) and galvanized material by $30 per ton ($1.50 per cwt).

"Previously quoted offers that have not been confirmed and/or acknowledged in writing by all concerned parties are subject to review and re-quote," the company said in a letter to customers.

The announcement came just days after Hamilton, Ontario-based ArcelorMittal Dofasco Inc. kicked off a new round of increases of $20 per ton (amm.com, June 26).
