NEW YORK — Nucor Corp. has increased minimum base prices for its steel sheet products effective immediately, it said in a July 1 e-mail to customers.

Hot-rolled coil is now $32.50 per hundredweight ($650 per net ton), while cold-rolled coil and galvanized sheet are $37.50 per cwt ($750 per ton), the Charlotte, N.C.-based steel producer said.

The move came just days after ArcelorMittal Dofasco Inc. hiked prices in an apparent leading move (, June 26). A number of other mills both east and west of the Rockies have followed suit.
