NEW YORK — Edward Vore has been named ArcelorMittal SA’s chief executive officer of mechanical-automotive for North America effective July 1.

Vore has held a number of commercial positions since joining ArcelorMittal in 1983, including head of marketing and sales of the company’s North American mechnical-automotive business unit, the company said in an internal memo dated June 28.

Vore will report directly to Arnaud Jouron, chief executive officer of the Luxembourg-based steelmaker’s tubular products division.

Vore succeeds Jim Baske, who was recently named chief executive officer of ArcelorMittal Dofasco Inc. (, June 19), a spokeswoman for the company told AMM in an e-mail.
