Marana selected to scrap 2 Boeing aircraft

NEW YORK — Marana Aerospace Solutions Inc. said it has been selected by Boeing Co. to provide end-of-life services for two 757 aircraft.

The dismantling is expected to result in about 146,000 pounds of scrap, according to a Marana representative.

The 757s will be the seventh aircraft-type to be dismantled at Marana’s 1200-acre Arizona facility in the past 12 months.

“We are very pleased to able to further expand our breadth of experience in the dismantling of commercial aircraft,” Marana vice president of sales and marketing Colin Buxton said in a statement.
