Corp. is increasing its scrap surcharge for special bar quality
products by $1.50 per hundredweight ($30 per ton) effective
Aug. 1, according to a July 10 notice to customers.
Customers will pay a
$240-per-ton surcharge in August, based on AMMs
consumer buying price for No. 1 busheling scrap in Chicago,
which settled $30 higher vs. July at $410 per ton.
This is Charlotte,
N.C.-based Nucors highest surcharge since Aprils
$253 per ton (
amm.com, March 12).
