Ballou, vice president of supply chain management at
ONeal Steel Inc., has retired, according to the
Birmingham, Ala.-based company.
Ballou will continue
to serve the company in an advisory role through the end of the

where he held a variety of sales and management positions. He
joined ONeal Steel in 1985 to lead the marketing efforts
related to its participation in Corus Tuscaloosa Steel Corp.
(now Nucor Steel Tuscaloosa Inc.).
Ballou became general
manager of ONeals Toledo, Ohio, operation and later
opened a Pittsburgh service center before returning to
Birmingham to join the companys purchasing
Ballou served as
director of carbon plate and flat-rolled products until 2008,
when he was promoted to vice president, managing
ONeals entire supply chain.
