LONDON JB Commodities, the trading group started by former Glencore International Plc aluminum trading boss Josef Bermann, has changed its name to BlueQuest Resources after Bermanns association with it ended.
"The new name reflects an ownership change in the shareholding of the company. Josef Bermann, former chairman and shareholder, is no longer associated with the company," chief executive officer José Kahn said in a letter to clients.
All other senior management positions, and commercial and operational contacts, will stay in place and all contracts will remain as before, he said.
Bermann set up JB Commodities in 2004, in partnership with ex-Glencore employee Michael Armbruester, formerly head of U.S. aluminum trading operations (amm.com, Jan. 21).
The company trades nonferrous metals and concentrates, and has offices in Europe, the United States, Brazil, Chile and China.
"The company will continue to pursue the expansion of its business by building on its proven and adaptable business model and by entering into additional commodities, as well as geographic locations," Kahn said. A version of this story was first published by AMM sister publication Metal Bulletin.
