NEW YORK — Tenaris SA has received an air permit from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality for its planned seamless tubular facility in Bay City, Texas.

The Luxembourg-based company said on a Facebook page created for the project that the plant would be designed to the most stringent environmental safety standards.

The $1.5-billion facility is expected to produce 600,000 tonnes of seamless oil country tubular goods annually (amm.com, Feb. 15). It is slated to begin operations in 2016.
