NEW YORK — Michael Boyle is believed to have been chosen to helm Alcoa Inc.’s raw materials business.

He will replace Leslie Shuman, the current director of supply chain for Alcoa’s Aerospace, Transportation and Industrial Rolled Products, who will oversee the transition of Alcoa’s used beverage can plant in Tennessee to a sheet mill operation, AMM has been told.

A spokesman for Pittsburgh-based Alcoa didn’t respond to a request for comment.

Boyle was appointed director of metal management for Alcoa Global Packaging in September 2012 (amm.com, Sept. 4). He previously was president of Magnolia Metals LLC, Louisville, Ky., for three years, and also held management positions at Ohio Valley Aluminum Co. LLC, Nichols Aluminum Inc. and Hydro Aluminum North America Inc.
