Ruger & Co. Inc., a maker of firearms and precision steel
investment castings, plans to build a $26-million manufacturing
facility in Mayodan, N.C.
Ruger will receive up
to $9.46 million over 12 years from the state Job Development
Investment Grant (JDIG) program based on how many jobs are
created at the 220,000-square-foot facility, said the company,
which expects to hire more than 450 workers in North Carolina
by the end of 2017.
Southport, Conn.-based Ruger makes firearms for hunting,
target shooting, collecting, self-defense, law enforcement and
government agencies. The company employs more than 2,000 people
in Arizona, Connecticut and New Hampshire.
