Grede awarded $57M contract

CHICAGO — Grede Holdings LLC, which manufactures safety-critical cast iron components for the transportation and industrial markets, has won a contract to produce front knuckles and other chassis components for a Japanese original equipment manufacturer (OEM).

The components were developed by Southfield, Mich.-based Grede to optimize mass savings while meeting durability and load requirements, the company said Aug. 19.

The contract is valued at $57 million over the life of the program.  Grede will produce the components at its facility in Reedsburg, Wis.
