LONDON Tata Steel Ltd. will introduce 30 new products in Europe this year, the steelmaker said at its annual meeting in Mumbai, India.
Tata Steel declined to disclose to AMM sister publication Steel First further details about the new products or confirm any date for their introduction other than that they will be released in 2013.
Tata Steel Europe currently produces long and strip products for the construction, automotive, packaging and engineering markets.
The announcement came on the heels of a 90-percent increase in global profits on robust figures from India and an improvement in the companys European operations in the first quarter of fiscal 2014.
Tata posted group profits of 11.4 billion rupees ($180 million) for the three months ended June 30 vs. 6 billion rupees in the same period a year earlier.
