CHICAGO Auger Torque USA LLC plans to open its first U.S. production facility, investing about $553,000 to lease and equip a 30,000-square-foot plant in Huntington, Ind.
The company, a subsidiary of Cheltenham, England-based Auger Torque Europe Ltd., makes and distributes attachments for earthmoving machinery, such as augers and drills.
Auger Torque, which expects to begin production in the United States in October, said the location will allow the company to expand its market for trenching attachments and earth augers within the United States.
"Indianas regulatory environment and skilled manufacturing work force makes it the perfect place for us to establish our first U.S. facility," Auger Torque USA president Todd Miller said in a statement.
Founded in 1998, Auger Torque operates five other facilities in the United Kingdom, Australia, China and Germany, and exports its products to 70 countries.
