NEW YORK — ATI Allegheny Ludlum Corp. will increase base selling prices on three 400-series products, continuing hikes in stainless steel base prices and surcharges over the past month.

Effective with shipments Oct. 1, base selling prices will increase by 2 cents per pound on ATI 409 HP, 3 cents per pound on ATI 439 HP and 4 cents per pound on ATI 441 HP on all cold-rolled sheet and strip and hot-rolled products, the company said in an Aug. 21 letter to customers.

Ludlum, a division of Pittsburgh-based Allegheny Technologies Inc., said the move is "necessary to support continued growth and investment in our business."

The company announced in July a two-part base price increase beginning Aug. 1 on several of its stainless steel products (, July 31).
