LONDON Duncan Hobbs has joined trading company Noble Group Ltd., AMM sister publication Metal Bulletin understands.
Hobbs, who has specialized in such sectors as zinc and ferroalloys, left his position as senior analyst at Londons Macquarie Bank Ltd. at the end of last week, market sources said.
Hong Kong-based Noble recently won the Zurich-based Nyrstar NV zinc offtake deal and agreed to back former Xstrata Plc chief executive officer Michael "Mick" Davis new venture, X2 Partners Inc., which has attracted a combined $1 billion investment from the trading firm and Fort Worth, Texas-based private equity firm TPG Capital (amm.com, Sept. 30).
Hobbs could not be reached for comment and Noble did not respond to requests for comment.
