Universal Stainless plant wins certifications

NEW YORK — Universal Stainless & Alloy Products Inc. has received both National Aerospace and Defense Contractors Accreditation Program (Nadcap) and International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 17025 laboratory testing certifications for its Dunkirk, N.Y., specialty steel facility.

The certifications boost the credentials of the Dunkirk facility, which helps the Bridgeville, Pa.-based company serve clients in the aerospace, energy and manufacturing industries.

Nadcap assesses companies within the aerospace and defense industries and their suppliers, while ISO develops standards and specifications across a variety of industries. ISO 17025 certification specifies competence in carrying out tests and calibrations, including sampling.
