Stainless producers’ surcharges mixed

NEW YORK — Stainless producers’ surcharges are mixed for November, with slight moves across most grades.

Outokumpu Stainless USA LLC, Calvert, Ala., set its November surcharges at 63.92 cents per pound for Type 304 material, up slightly from 63.9 cents in October; 43.33 cents for Type 201, up 0.4 percent from 43.16 cents; and 87.61 cents for Type 316, off 0.5 percent from 88.07 cents. The Type 430 surcharge, which has no nickel, rose 2.2 percent to 22.69 cents from 22.21 cents the prior month.

North American Stainless Inc., Ghent, Ky., set its charges at 63.92 cents per pound for Type 304, up from 63.9 cents in October; 43.03 cents for Type 201, up 0.4 percent from 42.86 cents; 87.57 cents for Type 316, down 0.5 percent from 88.02 cents; and 22.69 cents for Type 430, up 2.2 percent from 22.21 cents.

ATI Allegheny Ludlum Corp., part of Pittsburgh-based Allegheny Technologies Inc., set its Type 304 surcharge at 63.91 cents per pound, up 0.3 percent from 63.89 cents in October; Type 201 at 43.63 cents, up 0.4 percent from 43.47 cents; Type 316 at 87.57 cents, down 0.5 percent from 88.02 cents; and Type 430 at 22.69 cents, up 2.2 percent from 22.21 cents.

AK Steel Corp., West Chester, Ohio, set its November surcharges at 63.88 cents per pound for Type 304, unchanged from October; 44.24 cents for Type 201, up 0.5 percent from 44.03 cents; 87.53 cents for Type 316, down 0.5 percent from 87.98 cents; and 22.69 cents for Type 430, up 2.1 percent from 22.22 cents.
