NEW YORK — Nucor Corp. has raised its price on rebar by $10 per ton (50 cents per hundredweight) effective immediately on all new orders, the company said in a Nov. 5 letter to customers.

The Charlotte, N.C.-based steelmaker said all confirmed orders made by the close of business Nov. 5 would be price protected if shipped by Nov. 30. The move follows a $20-per-ton ($1-per-cwt) increase by Tampa, Fla.-based Gerdau Long Steel North America (, Nov. 4).
