Action Metals Recycling Inc., owned by Todd Fingerman, is
seeking to open a metals recycling facility in Des Plaines,
The Des Plaines zoning
board has already recommended the facility be approved for a
conditional use permit. It goes before the council in January,
and Fingerman said he is targeting a mid-February opening.
building sits on a 1-acre site. All recycling activities will
be conducted indoors, and the initial focus will be to develop
a retail customer base. The facility will accept ferrous and
nonferrous material, as well as appliances.
"I selected Des
Plaines because I am familiar with the scrap flows and like
that its located near expressways and Chicago," he
