NEW YORK — Nucor Corp. has increased transaction prices on its plate products by a minimum of $30 per ton ($1.50 per hundredweight) effective for new orders scheduled for production after March 1.

The increase applies to all carbon, alloy and heat-treated plate products, the Charlotte, N.C.-based steelmaker said in a Jan. 24 letter to customers.

Lisle, Ill.-based SSAB Americas (amm.com, Jan. 14) and Chicago-based ArcelorMittal USA LLC (amm.com, Jan. 22) recently increased prices by the same amount.

Buy- and sell-side sources have indicated that a strong order book have pushed lead times for most major mills into the March-to-April time frame.
