NEW YORK — Former Behr Iron & Metal Co. aluminum scrap buyer Pat Reiniche has died. She was 66.

Reiniche (née Hill) worked for Behr for nearly 30 years, starting in the company’s paper division in 1979. She later worked in the receiving department of the Rockford, Ill.-based company’s aluminum operations before becoming a full-time scrap buyer for its smelting division. She retired in 2009.

"Pat had a very strong following in the Midwest and was very well known for her sense of humor and tough negotiating skills. She established many lifelong relationships with her suppliers," a Behr spokesman told AMM.

A memorial service is scheduled for March 1 at the Farrell-Holland-Gale Funeral Home in Byron, Ill.
