NEW YORK ArcelorMittal USA LLC said it will incorporate ThyssenKrupp AGs Calvert, Ala., sales team into its sales and marketing team as a means of providing "one face to the customer" following the close of its financial deal.
"During this process, please continue to utilize your current commercial contacts for all business questions and transactions," ArcelorMittal USA executive vice president of sales and marketing Daniel G. Mull said in a Feb. 26 letter to customers. "Inquiries, orders and payments should proceed per your current practices."
Luxembourg-based ArcelorMittal SA and Nippon Steel & Sumitomo Metals Corp. (NSSMC), Tokyo, closed their acquisition of ThyssenKrupps Calvert facility Feb. 26 (amm.com, Feb. 26).
Germanys ThyssenKrupp announced the sale of its $1.55-billion facility to the companies in the fall (amm.com, Dec. 1).
"We have been actively planning for the incorporation of Calvert into our overall business since the November agreement and are committed to a seamless transition as we integrate our facilities, processes and people," Mull added.
