NEW YORK — Herr-Voss Stamco Inc. has completed commissioning of two state-of-the-art metal processing lines—a cut-to-length line and a Strand Extensioner slitting line—at Cascadia Metals Inc. in Brandon, Manitoba.

The new slitting line processes material from 0.013- to 0.25-inch thick by 72 inches wide, with an incoming coil capacity of 50,000 pounds. The line also is outfitted with Callery, Pa.-based Herr-Voss Stamco’s quick change injector slitter head system, the company said in a statement.

The backbone of Cascadia’s new cut-to-length line is a Herr-Voss Stamco Precision Leveler, which processes material from 0.024- to 0.135-inch thick. The line also incorporates a proprietary Electro Discharge Texturing (EDT) machine coupled with a high-speed shear.
