NEW YORK — Worthington Industries Inc. has agreed to acquire the oilfield storage tank manufacturing division of Steffes Corp. in Dickinson, N.D., the company said in a statement March 28.

Dickinson-based Steffes makes tanks for drillers in the Bakken shale and Williston Basin region.

“This acquisition complements our strategy to grow the energy business by adding to our geographical reach, so we can serve customers in the east, central and now the important northwest region of the U.S.,” Andrew Billman, president of Columbus, Ohio-based Worthington’s cylinder business, said in the statement.
