NEW YORK — DLA Strategic Materials sold 280 short tons of low-carbon ferrochrome last month to Amherst, N.Y.-based CCMA LLC and Cincinnati-based David J. Joseph Co. for a combined $687,000.

The Fort Belvoir, Va.-based agency had offered 3,000 tons of high-carbon ferrochrome and 2.24 million pounds of low-carbon ferrochrome with a 0.074-percent carbon content (amm.com, March 18).

It is the first time the DLA has not sold any high-carbon ferrochrome in its monthly offering since June 2013 (amm.com, July 8).
