NEW YORK — Maruichi Leavitt Pipe & Tube LLC is increasing prices on all products and size ranges by $40 per ton ($2 per hundredweight) effective with orders received after the start of business April 11.

"Orders placed and confirmed prior to this increase date will be price-protected for shipments through May 9," the Chicago-based company said in an April 11 letter to customers.

Maruichi makes structural, mechanical and HI-Y 50 pipe-size tubing, according to its website.

The move follows a $30-per-ton ($1.50-per-cwt) increase by Birmingham, Ala.-based Southland Tube Inc. on mechanical, pipe and structural products (, April 10).
