Atlas, Hanna raise tubing $40/T

NEW YORK — Atlas Tube Inc., a subsidiary of Chicago-based JMC Steel Group Inc., is raising its hollow structural sections (HSS) prices by $40 per ton effective immediately, the company said in an April 11 letter to customers.

The increase applies to all HSS shapes—squares and equivalent rectangles—through 12 inches square, as well as all HSS rounds with an outside diameter of up to 20 inches—with shipments already on the books price-protected through May 9, according to the letter.

Hanna Steel Corp., Hoover, Ala., also raised its tubing prices $40 per ton effective immediately, with orders currently on the books also price-protected through May 9, the company said in a April 11 letter.

Hanna makes mechanical and structural tubing, according to its website.
