NEW YORK — American Tube Manufacturing Inc. has raised prices by $40 per ton effective April 11.

The increase applies to all orders and unconfirmed quotes, with orders on the books price-protected through May 9 shipments, the Birmingham, Ala.-based company said in a letter to customers.

At least three other tube makers—Atlas Tube Inc., Hanna Steel Corp. and Maruichi Leavitt Pipe & Tube LLC—also raised prices by $40 per ton April 11 after Southland Tube Inc. increased its tags by $30 per ton April 9 in an apparent leading move (, April 10).
