AK Steel promotes five executives

NEW YORK — AK Steel Corp. has promoted five executives, the company said May 30.

Kirk W. Reich, 46, was named senior vice president of manufacturing; David C. Horn, 62, was tapped as executive vice president, chief legal and administrative officer and secretary; Roger K. Newport, 49, was appointed senior vice president of finance and chief financial officer; Joseph C. Alter, 37, was promoted to vice president, general counsel and chief compliance officer; and Renee S. Filiatraut, 50, was named vice president of litigation, labor and external affairs.

"The promotions ... will further strengthen AK Steel’s top leadership team and position AK Steel well for the future," James L. Wainscott, chairman, president and chief executive officer of West Chester, Ohio-based AK Steel, said in a statement.
