NEW YORK — Metals distributor A.M. Castle & Co. has struck a long-term deal to become industrial giant United Technologies Corp.’s (UTC’s) preferred supplier of raw materials and other services, the companies said June 12.

Oak Brook, Ill.-based A.M. Castle will provide raw materials and "value-added services," which include processed and machined parts and supply chain services, to UTC’s business units.

The components and materials to be supplied were not disclosed, and the duration of the agreement was not specified.

"As per our customer’s request, we prefer to not publish the details of our agreement," an A.M. Castle spokeswoman told AMM via e-mail.

Hartford, Conn.-based UTC sells military helicopters, aircraft engines and building components, such as elevators, among other industrial equipment. A.M. Castle recorded $1.05 billion in net sales in 2013 and supplies more than 5,000 products to over 25,000 customers worldwide, according to its website.
