PITTSBURGH — A Florida metal recycler has received approval to open its fourth facility in the state.

Deerfield Beach-based Capital Scrap Metal LLC was issued a special exception by Pompano Beach’s Zoning Board of Appeals for its second facility in the town. The 15,000-square-foot warehouse on 4.13 acres, across the road from the company’s other Pompano facility, will receive and store nonferrous material, according to a city planner. All activities will be done indoors.

"The volume of material we are receiving has almost doubled in the past year," vice president of operations Sean Harrigan told AMM. The recycler has been pursuing industrial accounts and is buying from smaller yards.

The company also has facilities in Deerfield Beach and West Palm Beach (amm.com, July 27, 2012).
