NEW YORK — Reliance Steel & Aluminum Co. has acquired all of the capital stock of Northern Illinois Steel Supply Co., a value-added distributor and fabricator of steel and nonferrous metal products, for an undisclosed price.

Channahon, Ill.-based Northern Illinois Steel provides primarily structural steel components and parts to the energy and petrochemical sectors, Reliance said. The company’s current management will remain in place.

"Northern Illinois Steel has a unique business model, combining traditional metal distribution capabilities with extensive in-house fabrication services, often on an emergency basis," David Hannah, chairman and chief executive officer of the Los Angeles-based distributor, said in a statement Aug. 1.
